Do you need a tetanus shot before they can stick the needle in your arm?

Do I need a tetanus shot before I stick the scissors into my finger?

vaccine is helpful, but "it can take up to two weeks for tetanus antibodies to form"; also "Because C. tetani is an anaerobic bacterium, it, and its endospores, will thrive in an environment that lacks oxygen." take oxygen baths :) and best of all avoid nails!
